Sunset

When I caught the first ray from her smile,
Not bettered even by the sun in the sky,
I knew I had to turn the page,
For a new day had begun ..

Spent an eternity watching her rise,
My smile never ceasing,
With every step she took,
Breathing beautiful life into me ..

With her bright rays,
Caressing my every inch,
I walked in a daze,
And feel myself pinch,
For an angel walked this earth,
With her hand in mine,
And the heavens watching in mirth,
For, the clock stuck nine,
And filled me with her dearth ..

For I stand here,
Clutching my heart,
As it twinges,
With eternal despair,
Feeling my lifetime drain,
Uttering a random prayer,
I have another song to sing,
Another one for her,
But I stand here, losing my sunshine,
All in a momentary lapse of reason ..

Forever young

Let's go for a beer,
See you at the bar,
Need no reason to cheer,
The night's still young ..

Pop out for a smoke,
Borrow or lend an ear,
Pop in for another beer,
There's another song to be sung ..

It all seems like a blur,
When the nostalgia takes over,
To the times that we were,
Feeling forever young ..
Drinking wine at noon,
Strumming a random tune,
Acting like a loon,
In a time far flung ..

The tables start to creak,
More beer we seek,
Last one for the week,
We say, in an almost foreign tongue ..

Why stop, lets go hop,
They say, let's live until the last drop,
Or until they shut up shop,
But the life in me is wrung ..

As I trudge forlorn,
And stifle a yawn,
I realise, the show will go on,
Until they come unsprung ..
But I slip into a daze,
And dream up many ways,
To lead me back to those days,
When we were forever young ..

Random thoughts of her

I find myself, dreaming,
While awake, and sleeping,
And I find myself, humming,
While silent, and breathing ..

Thoughts of her cross my mind,
Of flashes of her smile,
And her hair like the nile,
Flowing in the wind ..

Taking me back to the time,
Walking with her, hand in hand,
On the road to a faraway land,
And I didn't even have to rhyme ..

I wake up with a jolt,
And all those thoughts bolt,
They were from a long time ago,
Yet they remain with me, like a distant echo,
Reminding me every moment,
They were real, not just another figment ..

These thoughts, they remain hidden deep,
They make my heart sing,
At these thoughts, I want to take another peep,
They make my heart beat,
These thoughts, my heart wants to keep,
Because these thoughts, they make my heart weep ..

Contemplation

Looking at the world below,

With the wind across my face,

Collecting my thoughts as they go,

Lost in a void, staring into space ..

The feeling of the need to be alone,

With my wounds still sore,

Like a lone boat in a cyclone,

And the lonely wave breaking on the shore ..

The kings who rule the lands,
Seem to be playing a game with us pawns ..
And when it's the right hand,
I might not see tomorrow's dawn ..

What has this world come to ?
Why does tomorrow scream of nothingness ?
I pause in that thought,
As I aim my crosshair onto his head,
And pull that trigger,
And I continue to contemplate ..

nonsense divine

lack a spine

more wine more wine
